Starting and finishing at our chalet base in Courchevel Le Praz this tour takes you through Italy and Switzerland over some magnificent scenery.

Day 1

Riding out from the chalet we take the cycle path to Bourg St Maurice and onto the Col de Petit St Bernard. It’s a steady 5% over 28km to the summit at 2200m. Short decent to La Thuile and our hotel.

Day 2

The ride starts with Colle San Carlo from La Thuile which is a short but tough test with 4.2km at 9%. We then drop down into the valley and a lovely easy ride  to Aosta. Our major climb today is the 18km at 4% to the charming alpine village Cogne  in the heart of the Grand Paradsimo National Park.

Day 3

Today is all about the mighty Col de Grand St Bernard which links Italy and Switzerland. It’s a long climb 33km with an average gradient of 5%. It tops out at nearly 2500m. Our hotel is in Martigny (Switzerland) which just over 40km from the summit.

Day 4

We head back to France this morning via Col de la Forclaz (13km at 7.6%) This long climb is steady and rarely changes. There is a short climb over the Col de Montets before we drop back down to the Chamonix valley. This is a good for a break and a chance to take in the incredible scenery. We then descent to the valley floor before climbing back to our hotel in Megeve.

Day 5

Megeve is one of the prettiest ski resorts in France and the roads and climbs in this region and generally less steep and shorter. After a pedalling descent we ride the Col d’Aravis before passing through La Clusaz on our way to Faverges via Col de Marais. Here we pick up a cycle path to Albertville followed by the valley road to Moutiers. Couple of options here! You can ride to the chalet in Le Praz (15km at 6%) or finish here.

Day 6

We have a few options.  You can tackle the fearsome Col de Loze from Meribel where even Roglic and Podgcar struggles in the 2020 Tour finish or simply ride locally and have a nice lunch in the small alpine hamlet of Prioux above Pralongan.
