At Alpine Chaingang, cycling isn’t just our business , it’s in our blood. We’re a small, family-run company, surrounded by some of the most iconic cycling terrain in the world.
Founded by father-daughter duo Dave & Amy, the Chaingang was born from a deep love of two things: bikes and the Alps. With decades of riding, racing behind us, we’re here to share the best of the mountains, from big climbs to secret café stops.
Every tour, every guest, every bike gets the same care and attention we’d give our own. That’s the Alpine Chaingang promise.
About Dave
Dave is a highly experienced and passionate cyclist, having been riding and racing in the Alps for over 30 years. Before taking up cycling, he was an international runner, competing for Scotland.
Although he’s “getting on a bit,” Dave recently achieved a top 50 finish in the Étape du Tour, proving his enduring skill and fitness. He now focuses on leading groups and sharing the incredible routes we explore on our tours. Dave knows the routes like the back of his hand and is always around to offer advice, guidance, or support to riders of all levels.
He’s also constantly looking for new places to ride, so any suggestions are welcome, he’s always up for a challenge!
About Ben
Ben has been a key member of the Alpine Chaingang family for several years, earning a reputation as our most accommodating and helpful support driver. But this year, he’s shown us that he’s just as talented on a bike, one of those rare people who seems to have a natural gift (annoyingly impressive, right?). From now on, Ben will continue to bring his invaluable support skills while occasionally leading the way on rides too.
Beyond cycling, Ben has a real passion for freestyle and park skiing. If he’s not teaching skiing in the winter, you’ll find him seeking out fresh powder, hitting cliffs, or chasing the next adrenaline rush.
Ben is your go-to guy on every trip, always close by for any needs, ready to help, and guaranteed to make your experience smooth, safe, and fun.
About Amy
Amy first joined Alpine Chaingang in 2015, and she quickly fell in love with exploring the mountains with the cycling groups. Whether she was driving the support vehicle or riding alongside the cyclists herself, she loved being on the road and developed a real passion for mountain touring. She enjoyed every moment, making sure every rider had everything they needed to make the experience unforgettable.
Since then, Amy has taken on a behind the scenes role due to living in Singapore for a few years and raising two little ones. She is now a key part of the company, managing bookings and enquiries and ensuring that every trip runs smoothly.
A proud mum of two, Amy is eagerly awaiting the day her children can join her on the road with her three year old already riding without stabilisers, that moment may not be far off!
